India with its increasing demand in interior design, wants the ceiling to be beautiful as well. This demands built the chandelier ceiling fan: a fixture that gives a room its light and its air from one point, and looks deliberate doing it. We have spent over a decade refining the idea, from Austrian crystal placed by hand to candelabra arms wrapped around silent motors. This guide maps the whole category for Indian homes: what the names mean, the five style families and which rooms and ceiling heights suit each one.
What a Chandelier Ceiling Fan Is, and Why It Is Also Sold as a Ceiling Fan with Chandelier
Four names, one category. The market has never agreed on a label, which makes shopping for one of these harder than it needs to be.
- Chandelier ceiling fan is the descriptive term most buyers type into a search box.
- Ceiling fan with chandelier is how e-commerce listings usually phrase the same fixture.
- Chandelier fan is the short form you will hear in showrooms.
- Fandelier is our registered name for the category, and the one you will see across our range.
The names matter less than the test that separates the real thing from the rest. In a fandelier, the light is engineered into the housing and the blade geometry from the first drawing. A commodity fan with a light kit bolted underneath is a ceiling fan with chandelier styling, which is a different product.
For the full history of the category and how the first fandeliers were built, see our complete fandelier buying guide.
Chandelier Fans India: Why the Category Took Root Here
A standard ceiling fan runs almost throughout the year. A chandelier in the same room runs for a few hours each evening. When only one fitting can be the centre of the ceiling, Indian buyers choose the one that is already working.
Wiring settles the rest. Most Indian ceilings have a single point at the centre, and that point was planned for a fan. Adding a chandelier beside it means a second point, a second switch, and a second hole in the ceiling.
- One point, one fixture. Most of these fans run off the existing fan point in a modern home, so no major rewiring is involved.
- Existing chandelier points. An existing chandelier point can usually be reused with reinforcement, since a running motor pulls on the anchor in a way a static light never does.
- A ceiling that reads as designed. Architects increasingly ask for a clean ceiling: one centrepiece, no competing fittings. In our experience that is the most common reason a designer specifies a fandelier over a fan-and-chandelier pair.
Running costs closes the case. Many of our designs run on BLDC motors, brushless motors that stay quiet and draw far less power. India's Bureau of Energy Efficiency star-rates ceiling fans for exactly this reason: the saving adds up across a ten-month season. The chandelier fans India sees in showrooms today run closer to 30W than 75W.

The Five Style Families, From Cut Glass to the Modern Chandelier Ceiling Fan
Five design families cover the whole category. Each one answers in a different room.
Crystal and Cut Glass
Crystal (suspended) runs a 56" sweep and Crystal (retractable) runs a 44” sweep on an 80W AC motor with a 48W LED set inside a gold crown. Zephyr is offered at 56" and 44" in polished chrome with a 48W multicolour LED. Venetian is the one to know if efficiency matters: 52", fourteen transparent black blades that fold away when still, a 38W LED, and the only BLDC motor among our large crystal models. We also have Rolex and Dew Drop here in this category.
The assembly is the part buyers never see. Each crystal element is placed by hand so the symmetry holds and the sparkle reads evenly from every seat in the room. Lighting and fan systems are built separately, then fitted together as one piece.
For crystal grades, finishes and cleaning, see our guide to crystal ceiling fans.

Sculptural Gold
Sparkle/ Twinkle is 28" across, with champagne-gold aluminium blades, a 34W BLDC motor and a 60W multicolour LED. Alaska, added in April 2026, keeps that compact footprint and carries an 80W LED, bright enough to light a room on its own.

Candelabra and Vintage
Roman carries six 9W LEDs on candelabra points above wood-grain blades at 20". Chakra comes in 20" and 28" variants in Brazilian Cherry or matte black, and brings a distinctly Indian character to the family.

Stained Glass
In the fandelier range, we have Monalisa and Jodhpur. Its light does not dim. Buyers who want genuine chandelier-era character accept both conditions, and the glass usually wins.

Contemporary and Minimal
A modern chandelier ceiling fan drops the ornament and keeps the glow. Vogue is 20" with champagne-gold aluminium blades, a 32W BLDC motor and a 38W multicolour LED, sized for a dining nook or a compact bedroom. Mirage uses antique brass arms with four E27 lamps alongside a 40W LED, so the bulb character is yours to choose. Dazzle goes the other way: 58" of retractable blade in matte white, a 55W BLDC motor and a 70W multicolour LED. At rest, it reads as a light fitting. Running, it is a full-size fan.

Matching the Fixture to the Room and the Ceiling
Ceiling height decides more here than floor area does. A standard Indian apartment finishes at 9 to 9.5 ft under a 10 ft slab once the false ceiling is in. Villas run 10 to 12 ft, and double-height rooms reach 16 to 20 ft.

Fixtures that hang low. Chakra, Zephyr, Venetian, Crystal and Mirage all sit noticeably below the ceiling line, which is the point of their design. At a finished height of 8 to 9 ft, pick a compact model instead.
Three situations where we would talk you out of one. A triple-height stairwell wants a true multi-tier chandelier, hung in layers that no fan can imitate. A low passage or walkway is the wrong place for any decorative drop. And a 20" fandelier under a 400 sq ft hall ceiling is pure ornament, fine only if the air comes from somewhere else.
For foyers, stairwells and tall volumes, see our guide to chandelier fans for luxury foyers and double-height living rooms.

Inside a Chandelier Ceiling Fan with Light
The word multicolour suggests colour-changing light. What a chandelier ceiling fan with light actually gives you is tuneable white: 3000K warm, 4000K neutral and 6000K cool, switched from the remote. That is the more useful version. Warm for dinner, cool for a working afternoon, from one fitting.
Fan and light run independently on all our fan-light models, through a single remote. Speed on one set of buttons, brightness and colour temperature on another. Many of the BLDC models here, Venetian, Sparkle and Dazzle among them, also include a Summer-Winter mode that reverses the spin to move warm air in cooler months.
Bright enough to be the room's only light: Windflower at 132W, Nimbus at 120W, Twinkle at 118W, Columbus at 112W, Alaska and Jodhpur at 80W, and Dazzle and Glitter at 70W each. In a bedroom or a compact living room, that is the entire lighting scheme. In a large luxury living room, most of our clients still layer cove light or lamps alongside it.
Dimming arrives through the remote on Divine and Windflower. Dazzle does not dim at all, which is worth knowing before you decide.
LED modules are rated at roughly 10,000 hours. When one fails, a technician replaces the module or the driver on site. The fan stays on the ceiling.

Seeing One Running Before You Commit
A fandelier is difficult to judge from a photograph. The sparkle, the drop, the warmth of the light at 3000K and the sound of the motor at full speed all need a room around them.
That is why we keep more than 145 Fanzart showrooms across India. Ask for the fixture to be run with the light on, then with the light off, at the speed you would actually use at home. Ten minutes of that answers more than an hour of scrolling.
- Warranty. One year against manufacturing defects, five years on the motor.
- Installation. Handled by certified dealer technicians, generally dispatched within the same week.
- Finish. More than 3,600 colour combinations across housings, blades and lighting, so a fixture can be matched to the metalwork already in your room.

Choosing the Name, Then the Fixture
The vocabulary turns out to be the easy half. Fandelier, chandelier fan, ceiling fan with chandelier: the labels differ, the idea does not, and you can now read any listing without guessing.
The room is the harder half, and it is best settled in person. Bring photographs of the ceiling, the finished height in feet, and a note of the metal finishes already in the space. A consultant will narrow more than two dozen fandelier designs down to the three or four that belong in your room.
The full range sits in our fandelier collection, and you can call 90660-99000 if you would rather talk it through first.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a chandelier fan be installed on a false ceiling?
Yes, with the support anchored to the true slab above through a ply box or structural backing. Gypsum alone will not carry a fixture holding a light kit.We have completely different models created for such suiting. For a flush finish, recessed Invento and Invento Slim sit inside the cavity; where depth is tight, huggers such as Magnum, Cuddle, Snuggle, Huddle, Logan, Hugger, Simpolo and Aari work instead.
Which living room chandelier ceiling fan suits a standard 9 to 10 ft ceiling?
Dazzle and Glitter, both 58", give a standard-height living room full airflow with a fandelier's presence. For a 9 to 10 ft living room,we also have the Venetian (52", BLDC, 8,475 CFM) is the most versatile pick. The Crystal Suspended suits warm, traditional rooms, and the Zephyr Suspended fits best at 10 ft and above. In compact halls, Sparkle at 28" and Windflower at 22" add presence and strong light output without hanging into the sightline.
Does the light need its own wiring?
A chandelier ceiling fan combo runs off the existing fan point, with the remote handling both halves. Running one extra phase wire adds independent wall control of fan and light. Anyone planning a false ceiling with fan and chandelier in a single fitting should pull that wire before the gypsum closes over it.
How much air does a fandelier actually move?
Sweep decides it. The 20 to 28" sculptural models, Vogue, Sparkle and Roman, are centrepieces giving gentle circulation over a seating group. The 42 to 58" models, Dazzle, Glitter, Zephyr and Venetian, move air across a full room like any fan of that size.
Can a chandelier fan hang over a staircase or landing?
Yes. A double-height stairwell takes a chandelier fan well, with the downrod sized so the fixture sits at the right height for the floor below, not the floor above. Dealer technicians handle these installations, since the working height needs proper access equipment.
